LR Presidency: After his defeat, Laurent Wauquiez calls on the right "not to dilute itself in Macronism"
Laurent Wauquiez calls on the right to prepare a "project of rupture" following his defeat as president of the Republicans.
Laurent Wauquiez admitted his defeat on Sunday, May 18, against Bruno Retailleau for the presidency of the Republicans and called on the right to carry a "project of rupture", possible "if we are not diluted in Macronism".
"We must ensure that we are united to win, because if we are divided, we are sure to lose. My conviction remains the same: we must unite the entire right and we must carry forward a project of rupture. And we will not be able to do this if we are diluted by Macronism," he declared from Le Puy-en-Velay.
